The MBA job picture brightens Bloomberg BusinessWeek 6/3/2010 by Alison Damast The job market for MBA graduates appears to be slowly bouncing back at a growing number of top business schools, with increased on-campus recruiting, an uptick in job postings, and more students walking away at graduation with a job offer in hand. Bain & Company's senior director of global recruiting, Mark Howorth, says "Bain has had a record first half in terms of total business, and that directly translates to the number of people we need in the company. It's a pretty healthy jump from last year."

MBA intern hiring is slow to recover BusinessWeek 4/7/2010 by Francesca Di Meglio Despite the economic rebound, many top business schools across the nation are reporting that MBA internship hiring appears to be stabilizing but has a long way to go before it returns to pre-recession levels. With fewer full-time jobs on the table, school career services centers are encouraging students to be proactive in finding an internship, as an internship enables students to competitively showcase their talents and abilities against their peers'. Bain & Company gives their interns opportunities to take on current business projects in order to gain real company experience. "We treat the summer program as a microcosm of their career," says Mark Howorth, senior director of global recruiting at Bain & Company. "We want them to have a real client, real case teams, and real presentations."
